USA Cycling Announces Team for 2019 Junior Track World Championships

USA Cycling announced today the seven athletes that will represent the United States at the 2019 UCI Junior Track World Championships set for August 14-18, 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany. The squad, made up of National Champions, including Megan Jastrab (Rally-UHC; Apple Valley, Calif.) and Zoe Ta-Perez (LUX Cycling Team; Orange, Calif.) who accumulated 13 medals between the two of them at this year’s USA Cycling Junior and Elite Track National Championships after also claiming all three Junior National Titles two weeks prior with Jastrab taking the Road Race and Criterium and Ta-Perez winning the time trial.

“USA Cycling is proud to send these young riders to the Junior World Championships. These athletes have has great seasons and we have high hopes for their performances at Worlds,” said Jeff Pierce, USA Cycling’s Director of Elite Athletics, Road and Track.

The Team USA roster is as follows:

Megan Jastrab (Rally-UHC; Apple Valley, Calif.)

Zoe Ta-Perez (LUX Cycling Team; Orange, Calif.)

Kayla Hankins (LUX Cycling Team; Scottsdale, Ariz.)

Sophia Shuhay (Star Track Racing.; New Tripoli, Penn.)

Ian Oelrich (Team Velosport; San Diego, Calif.)

Brody McDonald (Team Velosport; Escondido, Calif.)

Peter Moore (Donkey Label Racing; St. Paul, Minn.)

All athletes automatically qualified for the event as National Champions in their events, according to the selection criteria. The USA Cycling 2019 Track World Championships selection criteria are available here.
